Ravaged&Resilient Print

These paintings started as studies based on the ancient Greek sculptures of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. With the addition of the gold crack-like accents behind the figure, they've become a meditation on the beauty and value of damage. No one gets through this life without incurring some sort of damage, and while this is often thought of as a negative, it is worth cherishing all the ways we heal and put ourselves back together as a testament to our inner strength and resilience.
