Commissions open!

Commission spots for original FruitingBodies available!

I only take commissions a few times a year, so spots are very limited. At this time, I am offering FIVE commission spots only, on a first-come first-serve basis.

I am only currently offering pieces from my FruitingBodies series. If you have a totally separate custom project you'd like to commission me for, you can still email me, but I'll be giving priority to this project first.

Previously commissioned work in its new home!

I love to see where my art ends up, so feel free to send me a pic ... it would make my day!

Artist Statement

FruitingBodies : Portraits of Resilience

My art is a reflection of myself. And the truth is, I've spent way too much of my life thinking shitty thoughts about my body.

The first time I remember thinking about myself as fat happened when in grade 3…. that means that I was 8 years old. And of course when I used that term, it also meant unworthy. Not good enough. Unloveable. Undeserving.

Pretty shitty things for a kid to be thinking about themselves.

I’ve spent all of my adult life trying to break myself of that mentality. I’ve made good progress, but it’s still daily work.

Maybe this story sounds familiar?

This is why I make art.

I started drawing FruitingBodies as a way of unknotting the negative mentality I had towards my own body. I wanted my work to celebrate feminine bodies in a way that I wasn’t seeing out in the world.

I wanted it to say, “Fuck you, for trying to make me hate myself. I am a fucking vision and I am powerful.”

This celebration, this internal revolution, this act of resistance... whatever you want to call it. This is what I want to share with you through this work.

I know I'm not alone in this. And I know there are others who still struggle to see the beauty and power they posses.

But you're worth the effort of getting there.

You are worthy.
You are strong.

And you deserve to celebrate that.

Pricing & Shipping

I charge a 50% deposit on all commissioned works. Shipping rates vary by size and destination. Shipping prices will be added to the remainder of your balance, and charged to you when your item ships, at which point you will receive tracking information.

Artwork Information

I use Daler Rowney acrylic ink and archival pens on watercolour paper to create these works. Each piece starts with an image of a body borrowed from various sources - photos I’ve taken, magazine layouts, etc. I then sketch from those images and add all the textural and growing elements.

Shop Policies

I create, package, and ship all artworks myself. Whenever possible I reuse or re-purpose packaging material, and all packaging materials are recyclable. Please take the time to ensure packaging materials end up in the proper recycling bins.
